Level 4 Modules

Unit 1 - Academic study skills

The aim of this module is to enable you to develop the necessary skills and understanding to study effectively within higher education especially in reflective and critical thinking skills

Unit 2 - Communicating in health and social care

This module will develop your awareness of the different forms of communication used in health and social care settings which will help foe effective service delivery.

Unit 3 - An introduction to healthcare policy

To develop your awareness of different influences on healthcare. Evaluation of healthcare policy will allow you to examine what are the key contemporary issues for those making policy, providers and those receiving support.

Unit 4 - Reflective practice

This module is designed to introduce you to reflective practice in all its forms. Reflections on practice and in practice are important part of health and social care. You will be able to feed into the idea of self-development linking theory to practice.

Unit 5 - Managing people in health and social care

The aim of this module is to enable you to learn the processes involved in the recruitment, management and development of people in the health and social care workplace as there will be change within your place of work.

Unit 6 - Sociology: concepts in health and ill health

You to gain an understanding of sociological concepts of health and ill health and their application to care practice in health and social care. The module will explore how society is structured in terms of age, gender, ethnicity, social class, family and households and its impact on health and wellness.
